Connected Practice
Connected Practice
As social workers we know that the most effective response to trauma is relational repair. Using this understanding we have developed our own practice model called Connected Practice. At the heart of this model lies the belief that the relationships that you build with children and families creates the catalyst for lasting change.

Our vision
Connected Practice is a methodology that supports practitioners to create change through meaningful and helpful relationships with children and families.
Through these supportive relationships more children and young people are supported to stay at home with their families – leading lives that are safe, stable and fulfilling.
If the child cannot remain at home decisions are made in a timely way. The same focus on relationships remain ensuring the child secures a strong sense of belonging within extended family or with carers and, where helpful, retains a connection with their birth family.
Families, carers and children will have more relational, effective, structured interventions and this will promote their functioning allowing for children in their care to be safer and better nurtured.
This focus on relationships and strength through connections is reflected in our approach to working with families, our Connected Progress career development pathway and our practitioner wellbeing programme.
