The CPD themes at this level are experience and leadership.
This is an opportunity to identify training and practice development activities which support you to develop leadership and supervision skills. These should:
- enable your staff to be supported to effectively using Connected Practice methodology; and
- strengthen and deepen your practice wisdom and experience.
Your CPD plan will support you to practice at the standards described in the practice supervisor’s KSS and be confident in your identity as a leader and be aspirational about your future career.
Training and professional development elements for Practice Managers:
Connected Leadership
All managers need to have a baseline understanding of the practice adopted by your teams so the model of Connected Practice can be supported. In an ideal world this would mean you attending the training on Attachment, Motivational Interviewing and Trauma informed practice. However due to the demands on your time the most helpful pathway is to access an abbreviated version which supports your supervision of busy teams.
Connected Supervision
To support this system wide understanding as much as possible as managers you need to understand the supervision model that is adopted in ESCC – the Morrison 4x4x4 model. You need to be supported in delivering reflective supervision which is inclusive and supports inclusive practice whilst retaining focus on performance, performance improvement and addressing workload issues.
